A bonfire was put out by fire crews after concerns were raised when it was left abandoned.

They spent around an hour at the scene in Cranmer Close and advised residents downwind of the fire to close doors and windows as a precaution because of the smoke.

Crews in two fire engines left the scene shortly before 11.10pm after using a main jet to put out the fire.
