Fire crews tackle blaze in Canterbury after vegetation catches alight in sweltering heat

Firefighters were called to a blaze in Sturry after vegetation and shrubbery caught alight.
Three fire engines were sent to Herne Bay Road at 7.30pm last night and crews spent almost two hours tackling the fire using a water shuttle.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said they do not yet know what started the blaze.
Temperatures in Sturry exceeded 30 degrees yesterday.
