Firefighters tackle kitchen fire in Mortimer Street, Herne Bay

Firefighters were called to a kitchen fire in a home in Mortimer Street, Herne Bay.
Two fire engines rushed to the scene of the fire, which was sparked by a microwave and spread to the kitchen, at around 10.20pm.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a high-pressure hose reel jet to tackle the flames, before clearing smoke and fumes from the property using a positive pressure ventilation fan.
There were no reports of any injuries and the cause is thought to be accidental.
