Firefighters rescue elderly motorist trapped in floodwater under bridge in Old Wives Lees in Chilham between Canterbury and Ashford

An elderly man has been rescued after driving into floodwater between Canterbury and Ashford.
His car got trapped in two feet of water under a bridge near Old Wives Lees in Chilham yesterday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the scene at about 4.40pm and closed off Selling Road.
Crews made the car safe and closed the road to prevent other drivers make the same mistake.
Two fire engines were at the scene until about 5.45pm.
