Pupils have been put on alert after a schoolboy was followed by a van driver after he got off a bus in Whitstable.
The pupil from Canterbury's Archbishop's School was beckoned over by a man in a Transit van in Clover Rise, near the Old Thanet Way.
When he ignored him and walked off, the motorist followed him - crawling behind him down the road.
Now the Archbishop's School, which is in the St Stephen's area of Canterbury, has sent a note to both pupils and parents.
Deputy head teacher Gavin Kennett said: "On Friday of last week one of our pupils who caught the 914 bus got off at Clover Rise and a man in a Transit van beckoned the pupil over.
"You should do exactly as this pupil did and ensure that the police are told as soon as possible..." - deputy head teacher Gavin Kennett
"The pupil sensibly ignored the man and walked home. The person in the van did, however, follow the pupil some of the way. The police are aware and are looking into this.
"In the unlikely event of anything similar happening to you on your way home you should do exactly as this pupil did and ensure that the police are told as soon as possible."
Kent Police spokesman Jon Green said: "A boy reported to a parent that he became concerned about a suspicious vehicle when he was walking along Clover Rise, Whitstable.
"The driver of the van did not speak to the boy and there were no further reported incidents. Officers made enquiries and found that no offences had been committed."
Deputy head teacher Gavin Kennett said: "I received a message from a parent on Monday informing me of the incident in question.
"The school takes these sorts of incidents seriously and therefore let the pupils know at afternoon registration and emailed parents.
"Kent Police are aware and pupils have been told that the police should be contacted if anything similar occurs."
