Hazel Stokes takes on the cutting comments of TV presenter Anne Robinson when she appears on The Weakest Link today.

Mrs Stokes, a student advisor at Canterbury College, is keeping tight lipped about how she fares.

She said she had watched the show ever since it started and had always wanted to be on it.

“I have applied several times and this time I finally made it,” she said.

“I was nervous while I waited to go on, but that went away when the questions started as I needed to focus. I found the questions quite easy but there were a few that I got wrong.

“I think there was one about the Incas and one about cough medicine, but you’ll have to wait and see how I did in the show.”

The Weakest Link is not her only TV appearance. Over the past 10 years she has also appeared on Wheel of Fortune, The People Verses and Sale of The Century.

Mrs Stokes has also worked part-time at the Marlowe Theatre for nearly 20 years and has collected more than 300 pictures of herself with countless celebrities.

One of her more recent was with TV host and Marlowe panto star Stephen Mulhern.

In 2006, Stephen Bull, a writer and lecturer at Portsmouth University, published a collection of Hazel’s photographs in a book entitled Meeting Hazel Stokes.

The show will be transmitted at 5.15pm on BBC 1.
