16:00, 30 April 2015
A disabled man has been taken to hospital after he was knocked down in a reported hit and run this morning.
He and his wife were shopping at Aldi in St Andrew's Close, Canterbury, when he was struck in the supermarket's car park shortly after 10.30am.
Police are investigating claims the driver of the car failed to stop and fled the scene, leaving the man lying on the ground.
He suffered head and hand injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
It is understood Aldi does not have CCTV cameras covering the car park.
The daughter of the injured man posted on Facebook, saying: "Whoever you are you mongrel, you need to feel ashamed of yourself and be sure the police are looking for you."
A police spokesman says officers are making enquiries.
Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident reference number 30-322.
