Residents and businesses have been left without a water supply due to a burst main.
South East Water is working to fix the issue in North Lane, Canterbury, which is impacting those living in the city and its surrounding villages.
Temporary traffic lights have been installed by engineers and motorists have been warned by Kent Highways delays are likely in the area.
South East Water says residents have been left without a supply or low water pressure.
A map shared on the company's website shows residents in the city are impacted in the North Lane area, as well as those based in Fordwich and Broad Oak.
"We're really sorry to those of you who are experiencing low water pressure or no water at the moment," the firm said.
"This has been caused by a burst main which we are trying to fix as quickly as we can.
"As soon as the repairs have been completed, your water will return to normal.
"To allow for the safe repair of the burst pipe, traffic lights will also need to be put in place before we can start work, we would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
"We can't say just yet how long this will take but please rest assured we're dong everything we can to get you back up and running as soon as possible."
The firm says the issue started at about 11pm last night.
