A fresh artist’s impression shows how Kent’s latest Ivy restaurant could look as an opening date has been revealed.
The Ivy Collection’s Canterbury Brasserie is set to welcome customers in October at the former Burton and Dorothy Perkins building.
A glossy image depicts the chain’s vision for the restaurant’s interior, featuring an amalgamation of vibrant furniture and an opulent bar area.
Transformation of the long-neglected high street building will result in Kent’s second Ivy restaurant, having opened a branch in Tunbridge Wells in 2017.
According to bosses, the Canterbury branch will create 140 jobs, hold 180 guests, and feature a private dining room alongside an outdoor terrace
They say the city is the “perfect location” due to its rich history.
Managing director of The Ivy Collection Laura Mills said: “We’re thrilled to bring The Ivy experience to Canterbury.
“The city’s rich history and vibrant culture make it the perfect location for our next restaurant.
“We can’t wait to open our doors this autumn and become part of the Canterbury community, sharing countless special moments and wonderful meals together.”
It will be open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night drinks.
The menu will include modern and seasonal dishes such as shepherd's pie, blackened cod and artichoke and sweet potato tagine.
Drinks such as crafted cocktails, a variety of Champagne, and a selection of fine wines will also be on offer.
Bosses first unveiled their plans for the venue in the former Burton and Dorothy Perkins building on the corner of The Parade and Rose Lane in April.
The chain, popular with celebrities, previously looked set to only build a rooftop dining venue on the dilapidated shop.
However they are are now taking on the entire building.
The Ivy Canterbury Brasserie is currently on the lookout for staff and anyone interested is asked to email recruitment@theivy-collection.com.
An exact opening date is set to be released in due course.
