A homeless thug who threatened a man with a knife in central Canterbury has been jailed for 16 months.
As his victim fled, Steven Kerrigan told him he would "cut him in his sleep".
Kerrigan, of no fixed address, appeared at Canterbury Crown Court and admitted threatening a person with a blade in a public place.
Witnesses had reported a row in Canterbury Lane on the evening of November 9.
Kerrigan produced a utility knife and pointed it at the man's chest. As he ran away, Kerrigan threatened to cut him while he slept.
Police arrived and found Kerrigan with the knife.
PC Alex Edwards said: "‘Although the victim was not hurt, it is not acceptable to threaten anyone with a knife.
"I would like to thank those who witnessed the incident and assisted officers with the investigation."
