Dogs Trust in Canterbury wants new home for rescue pet Bruno
10:00, 19 June 2015
Week after week, lonely Bruno has sat patiently as his four-legged colleagues are found comfy new homes.
The sweet-natured crossbreed has been housed at a rescue centre for six months – making him one of its longest serving residents.
Dogs Trust staff in Canterbury are so desperate to see Bruno matched up with a loving new owner, they are offering foot his vets bills.
Bruno is ten years old and has recently been diagnosed with renal failure as well as being repeatedly overlooked by potential adopters.
The trust’s supporter relations officer, Lara Murphy, said: “I love my job and have been lucky enough to have seen thousands of dogs find their forever homes over the last years but nothing could really compare to seeing Bruno finding a loving new family of his own.
“I know I shouldn’t have favourites but Bruno is such an affectionate, fun loving dog that, like most of the staff here, I have a real soft spot for him and after all he has been through it would be wonderful to see him become part of a loving family.”
Ms Murphy says Bruno would be ideally suited to a family with older teenagers.
“Bruno needs to be with someone who works only part time as he does like someone to give him lots of hugs during the day,” she added.
“He is on full foster which means Dogs Trust will cover the cost of any veterinary care relating to his condition.”
