One of the main routes in and out of Canterbury is shut today.
In what will be the first of three different weekend closures, traffic will not be able to get into the city via the A28 at Wincheap.
Vital repairs are being carried out on the 115-year-old rail bridge, with steel girders being welded, strengthened and coated in protective paint.
Access under the bridge off the busy Wincheap Roundabout will be prohibited until 2am on Sunday.
The route will then be shut for the entirety of next weekend, followed by a one-day closure on February 21.
Drivers will be diverted along the A2 through to the outskirts of Bridge and then New Dover Road to reach Canterbury. For motorists heading the other way, the diversion is vice-versa.
Just last week, the bridge was given a much-needed facelift after engineers removed decades of grime, rust and graffiti from the ageing structure. It now sports a fresh lick of pale green paint.
On Thursday, the low-lying bridge was once again hit by a lorry - sparking train delays.
