Teenager arrested after reportedly lying across train tracks at Canterbury West railway station

A teenager who reportedly jumped onto train tracks and refused to move has been arrested after causing delays at the station.
British Transport Police (BTP) says the ma will be questioned this morning following the incident at Canterbury West.
A BTP spokesperson said via X: “A male remains in custody after he was arrested at Canterbury West for obstruction of engines and carriages after he went to the station, jumped on the tracks and sat and laid there causing the trains to stop and power be turned off.
“He will be interviewed later this morning.”
Later telling KentOnline:”“Officers were called to Canterbury West railway station at around 7.45pm yesterday (3 July) following reports of a trespasser on the tracks.
“Officers attended and a teenager was arrested on suspicion of obstruction of the railways.”
Delays have since cleared and all trains from the city centre station are running on time.
