Dover District Commander Chief Inspector Paul Barrell says it was in relation to two separate reports of offences.

The first was that a girl had been assaulted on Tuesday, November 22, causing a minor injury.

Three days later, he is said to have injured a dog.

Ch Insp Barrell added: "The suspect was later passed into the care of healthcare professionals while enquiries into the incidents continue and bail conditions have been put in place barring him from entering Aylesham until at least Tuesday, February 21 2023.

"Kent Police understands that these incidents have led to concern and officers have been providing a high-visibility presence in the village this week.

"As part of our response, we are also working with partner agencies including Dover District Council, NHS mental health services and a charity for the homeless to keep the village safe."
