Man charged after police officer attacked in Wincheap, Canterbury

A man has been charged after a police officer was attacked while responding to another assault.
The incident happened in Wincheap, Canterbury on August 29, just after 9pm.
A man was assaulted by another man, and when police apprehended the suspect, an officer was attacked during the arrest.
Ashley Munchin has since been charged with attempting to wound the officer with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The 37-year-old, of no fixed address, has also been charged with assaulting the member of the public involved and causing criminal damage to the man's ear pods.
He appeared before Folkestone Magistrates' Court on August 29 and was remanded to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on September 30.
