Man dies after multi-vehicle crash on A2 near Canterbury, as road remains closed

A man has died after a multi-vehicle crash on the A2 which has left the road closed for more than six hours.
It was reported the victim was driving a silver Vauxhall Corsa on the Londonbound carriageway near Canterbury when a blue BMW joining from the A260 slip road collided with his car and a white DAF lorry.
The man, aged in his 60s, died at the scene despite the efforts of ambulance crews, and police have now launched an appeal for witnesses.
The incident took place at around 6.40am and his next of kin have been informed.
A police spokesperson said: “Investigators are seeking witnesses to a fatal collision on the A2 near Barham.
“Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are carrying out enquiries and would like to hear from anyone who might have witnessed the incident.
“They are also appealing for anyone with dashcam footage taken in the area around the time to come forward.”
