A pedestrian who died after being struck by a car on the A2 has been named as Franky Bryan.
Mr Bryan was hit by a silver Mercedes A180 while crossing the coast-bound carriageway near Dunkirk on the evening of Wednesday, January 23.
An inquest opening held today at Archbishop's Palace in Maidstone heard the 28-year-old, a carpenter who lived in London, died of multiple injuries.
Since his death, tributes have been left on the roadside in his memory.
A small memorial including flowers, candles, pictures and messages has been created on a verge of the A2, near the scene of the accident.
The young man is believed to have been crossing the busy road with a second man shortly before midnight.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance to be treated for his injuries but later died.
The incident led to a section of the road being closed for more than six hours.
Police say inquiries to locate the second pedestrian are ongoing.
