Sturry: Kent Police in Canterbury appeal for witnesses to bottle attack

A man was left with severe cuts to his face after being attacked with a bottle.

The victim was lucky to avoid falling in front of a passing lorry after the incident outside a social club in Water Lane, Sturry, after he was hit on the head

DC Natalie Davison said: "The man who is in his 30s suffered severe lacerations to his face in the incident.

"The impact of the blow caused him to fall into the road and a passing truck narrowly missed him. He required hospital treatment and stitches.

"‘We are aware the area was busy when the assault took place so I would be keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident."

The incident took place between 4.30pm and 5.30pm on Monday, June 20.
