Canterbury: Man hit by train at Tonford Lane foot crossing was just 21 years old from London

A man struck by a train at a foot crossing near Canterbury was just 21 years old, it has emerged.
Emergency crews rushed to the site in Tonford Lane, Thanington following the incident just after 10am last Thursday.
The man, who was from London, was hit by a Ramsgate to St Pancras service. He died at the scene.

A spokesman from British Transport Police said the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

Flowers have been left at the scene of the incident, which is close to the River Stour.
