Michael Yianni signs for Faversham Town
08:00, 19 May 2011
Faversham Town have completed their first new signing of the summer with the capture of midfielder Michael Yianni.
The former Whitstable Town and Folkestone Invicta midfielder (pictured) will bring a wealth of experience to the club and was high on Faversham manager Ray Turner’s wish list.
The Town boss has been busy talking to potential new signings and is expected to unveil another new midfielder by the end of the week.
Turner said: "We have been talking to five players and Michael is the first who has agreed to join us.
"He has a lot of experience at this level and is young and ambitious.
"He can play in all areas of midfield and has played off the front man."
Turner insists he does not need to make wholesale changes to his squad for next season and intends to retain the majority of last season’s squad, which helped the club to eighth place in Ryman League Division 1 South.
