Whitstable could be getting a new supermarket after Morrisons chiefs admitted they are hoping to open a store in the town.
As many as 20 jobs are expected to be created with the launch of a new Morrisons M Local branch in area.
The company has already started advertising positions for a new shop based in Whitstable, including a store manager to lead a team of 20.
But while bosses have set their sights on several locations in the town, they have not yet signed a deal.
Spokesman Laura Stubbs says: "We are looking at a number of sites in the region where we can bring our Morrisons M Local offer to new customers, and are keen to identify local people to join our team."
Morrisons M Local shops are smaller branches similar to Tesco Express and Sainsbury's Local convenience stores.
As many as 70 branches opened across the country last year - a number that was boosted by Morrisons' purchase of Jessops, Blockbuster and HMV stores from administrators.
