A Doberman with a penchant for classical music and football needs a loving new home.
Four-year-old Misty has been in the care of the Dogs Trust Canterbury for over six months.
When she arrived she was nervous but soon learned to relax when staff played her soothing music from Classic FM.
According to shelter managers, Misty is currently greatly enjoying the BBC Proms season and is often found curled up catching up on the day’s musical highlights.
Adam Levy, Rehoming Centre Manager for the trust’s Canterbury branch, said: “Misty is a big, beautiful lady who is very popular with all of us at Dogs Trust Canterbury. When she first arrived she was very shy and struggled to adjust to life away from a home environment.
"Lots of dogs like listening to music, particularly classical music, as it’s very soothing. As soon as we introduced her to Classic FM, Misty seemed to relax. Right now she is loving BBC Proms, Beethoven is her favourite!”
Misty is looking for active, adult owners who will ensure she gets the mental and physical stimulation she needs.
She is a big, bouncy girl who can be strong on her lead, therefore potential owners with experience of large breeds would be ideal.
Mr Levy said: “When Misty isn’t lounging and listening to Bach she loves burning off her endless energy with a game of football.
“She loves running around, exploring the great outdoors and sniffing out new smells. She’s an incredibly loyal lady and once she has got to know you, she will shower you with love and affection.”
If you are interested in rehoming Misty please call the trust rehoming centre on 0300 303 0292.
Dogs Trust Canterbury is open 12-4pm Friday – Tuesday, 12 – 7.30pm Thursdays. It is closed on Wednesday.
Dogs Trust Canterbury is in Radfall Road, Chestfield, near Whitstable.
