Murals brighten beer garden walls
00:00, 11 September 2008
When drinkers at The Dolphin in Canterbury gaze at the beer garden walls they are not seeking inspiration.
Artist Oliver Winconek has created two new murals at the pub in St Radigund’s Street.
“They’re both made up first with stencils, which take a few days to draw up, and then it’s about an hour’s work to finish them off with spray paint,” said Oliver.
Oliver was invited along by landlord Peter Mickelburgh, who had brought some of his work beforehand and asked him to commission some pieces for the pub.
“We thought long and hard about where to put them, but where they are means you get a great view wherever you sit in the garden,” said Mr Mickelburgh.
