Mystery over Hyundai Coupe left abandoned after crashing into retail park sign on A28 Sturry Road in Canterbury
20:49, 03 December 2022
A sports car was left abandoned outside a retail park after appearing to veer off the road and crash into a sign.
The black Hyundai Coupe was found with a crumpled bonnet and smashed headlights along a grass verge of the A28 in Canterbury.
It's understood the South Korean sports car had veered off the roundabout on Sturry Road.
The vehicle was found wedged into a sign for the Canterbury Retail Park this morning by puzzled shoppers.
Most of the car was lodged in a bush with police tape around the boot.
The sunroof was still open and the rear tyres were poking out onto and obscuring the public footpath.
Police confirmed they were called to a report of an abandoned car in that location.
It is understood enquiries are underway to trace the owner and make arrangements for its removal.
