Bosses at a pizza restaurant have revealed the opening date of its latest branch.

Fireaway will be launching later this month at the £115 million Riverside development in Canterbury.

The chain is the latest business to open at the complex - with two more units yet to be filled.

The firms to have opened there so far are Curzon, which launched its five-screen cinema in August.

Eateries Korean Cowgirl and Heavenly Desserts both started welcoming customers last month.

Also lined up to launch are upmarket Asian restaurant Sekoyya, Black Sheep Coffee and Boom Battle Bar - a drinking spot offering revellers 10-pin bowling, shuffleboard, table tennis and axe-throwing.

Fireaway will open on Tuesday, January 24 and can be found at Unit 11c at the leisure complex.

Launched by Mario Aleppo in 2016, Fireaway serves up fresh toppings and handmade dough, cooked in a 400-degree fire oven which takes just 180 seconds.

It offers a choice of four bases, four cheeses, four meats and 20 toppings, all available for the same price. Also on the menu is a Nutella Pizza.

Mr Aleppo said: "We like to innovate and have also introduced the full range of gluten-free and vegan options to ensure there is something for everyone."

The new branch will be open from midday to 11pm seven days a week, and is partnered with Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats.

It comes after BrewDog pulled the plug on plans to open its first pub in Kent.

The craft beer giant was set to launch one of its "iconic bars" at the new £115 million Riverside complex.

Co-founder James Watt announced the news last spring, and the company had even secured a premises licence for the prime spot in Kingsmead Road.

But the brewer has now performed a surprising u-turn, and will no longer be taking on the unit next to the site's Curzon cinema.
