Sadaat Bibiani and Hayatullah Hazarbuz jailed for robbing teenage boy in Shaftsbury Road, Canterbury
18:30, 03 February 2017
Two men who threatened a teenager into giving them £500 have been jailed.
Sadaat Bibiani, 21, of no fixed address and Hayatullah Hazarbuz, 20, of Copinger Close, Canterbury visited a house in Shaftsbury Road, Canterbury, just after midnight on October 26, 2015.
They intimidated and threatened a 16-year-boy and Bibiani damaged a wall, and the teen, fearing an attack, gave them all of the money he had, around £500.
The pair were arrested later that day and were charged with robbery. Bibiani was also charged for damaging the wall.
Bibiani, who admitted criminal damage, was found guilty of robbery at Canterbury Crown Court on Thursday, February 2, and was jailed for three years. Hazarbuz was jailed for two years.
Investigating officer DC, Dan Mead, said: "These two men used bullying and intimidation against this young man to take all the money he owned.
"They gave no consideration to how he would be able to support himself without this cash.
"The young victim can gain some reassurance that these two predatory individuals are safely behind bars and it is to his credit that he was courageous enough to assist us during this lengthy legal process."
