Pedestrian hit by car in St Stephen’s Road, Canterbury

A pedestrian has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car.

The collision happened this morning in St Stephens Road in Canterbury prompting heavy traffic in the area.

Emergency services were called to the scene, and paramedics treated the injured person.

They were then taken to QEQM Hospital in Margate.

An ambulance service spokesman said: “South East Coast Ambulance was called at approximately 10.40am today to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian in St Stephen’s Road, Canterbury.

“One ambulance crew attended and the pedestrian was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to QEQM Hospital in Margate.”

A police spokesman added: “At 10.44am today Kent Police was called to a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in St Stephen's Road, Canterbury.

“Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service, who treated a person for injuries at the scene.

“The person was later taken to hospital as a precaution and the road remains open.”
