A road was shut following a two-vehicle crash which saw one person taken to hospital.

Police and paramedics were called to Bridge Hill near Canterbury at about 5.30am following reports of the incident.

The road was shut both ways between the A2 for Bishopsbourne and Kingston and High Street/ Bourne Park Road.

A police spokesperson confirmed that a woman was treated for injuries by paramedics and officers worked to clear the road and recover the vehicles.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service added: “Crews assessed and treated one patient at the scene before taking them to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford for further medical treatment.”

The road has since reopened.
