A tweet from British Transport Police said officers saw a woman hit a man with a bottle after they were called about a fight.

They said an officer was then bitten as they made an arrest.

A woman was arrested on suspicion of common assault, assaulting emergency service worker and criminal damage to a window.

The force has since tweeted to say has now been taken straight to a cell amid alleged threats made to officers at custody.

Elsewhere Kent Police teams have been on standby outside another Kent station.
