Emergency crews scoured Reculver clifftops on Thursday night in the search for a missing woman.
Two coastguard teams and a police helicopter were scrambled to Herne Bay shortly after 7pm when the woman - who was described as "high-risk" - is believed to have made a 999 call.
People reported seeing the helicopter over the shoreline for much of the night until the vulnerable woman was eventually found after police traced her mobile signal.
A coastguard crew from the town had been joined by another from Margate for the search.
A spokeman said: "Units were stood down when police traced her mobile phone to an inland location."
