A restaurant chain is planning to open a new branch in a busy high street.
Japanese fast-food firm Kokoro has set its sights on premises in Canterbury currently occupied by currency exchange business Change Group, just a couple of doors down from the Beaney House of Art and Knowledge.
Kokoro specialises in sushi and bento - serving up a range of popular dishes such as chicken katsu curry, sweet and sour chicken, gyoza dumplings and udon noodles in takeaway containers.
The company's first branch opened in Kingston-Upon-Thames in 2010, and the firm has since opened a total of 23 franchises across the country.
A potential franchisee has now applied to Canterbury City Council for planning permission to transform the High Street premises into a Kokoro branch.
The plans, which have been granted express permission by the council, show the restaurant would have some indoor seating, and employ four full-time and four part-time staff.
They also show the shop will open from 8am until 7pm Monday to Friday, 9am until 8pm on Saturday, and 9am until 7pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
Kokoro did not want to comment.
