A road has been shut by police while officers carry out investigation work after an accident.
The A2050 at Nackington, near Canterbury, is closed in both directions from the junction with Old Dover Road to the A2.
A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called to a one-vehicle collision near The Old Gate Inn roundabout on the A2050 New Dover Road, Canterbury at 4.20am on Saturday, December 3.
"Officers remain at the scene and the A2050 is closed between The Old Gate Inn roundabout and the junction with the A2.
"The road is expected to be closed for most of the morning and motorists are advised to use alternative routes where possible."
Buses have been forced to divert. Stagecoach South East tweeted: "Due to an ongoing police incident between A2 slip road and New Dover Rd, all buses are unable to serve between Renville Cottage and Waitrose.
"Buses will divert along the A2 through Wincheap to arrive at Bus Station. Thank you for your patience."
Traffic cannot leave the A2 towards Canterbury at the A2050 and there is congestion at the A28 Wincheap exit.
As of 12.45pm, the road remained closed.
