A busy road was closed in both directions due to a "police incident" after residents reported seeing the air ambulance in the early hours.
The A28 Pin Hill section of the ring-road in Canterbury was shut both ways from Old Dover Road (Riding Gate Roundabout) to A290 Rheims Way (Wincheap Roundabout).
According to the INRIX traffic service, the "police incident" occurred "heading past the city wall, near the police station".
A resident posting on Facebook said they heard an air ambulance flying low over their house at about 3am, with another saying it landed at the city's bus station.
Another said: "Lots of police and ambulance service opposite chem [Club Chemistry] by the city wall."
