Roadworks sparking long delays on A28 Canterbury Road between Godmersham and Chilham set to end
11:21, 08 October 2024
Roadworks causing lengthy delays for commuters along a major route are set to end tomorrow.
South East Water closed a stretch of the A28 Canterbury Road between Godmersham and Chilham on Saturday, October 5, so engineers could carry out essential maintenance.
The closure between The Street and Bramble Lane junctions caused delays up to 30 minutes for drivers between Ashford and Canterbury with a lengthy diversion through Challock in place.
But as of tomorrow morning traffic flow is expected to return to normal.
Further along the A28, South East Water also installed temporary traffic lights to carry out maintenance near the Shalmsford Road junction.
Work started there on Thursday but has since been lifted.
