A pedestrian has been involved in a serious accident that has seen a road blocked for a number of hours.
Police and medics were called to the A257 in St George's Place, Canterbury, at 5.40pm to reports of a collision involving someone on foot and a van.
The crash, which was near Waitrose, was said to be impacting traffic heading away from the city centre.
There were reports of a number of police cars and ambulances in the road, near the lights where it becomes New Dover Road.
A police spokesman said officers were still there at 9.15pm carrying out investigation work.
Bus company Stagecoach tweeted to say its services were being diverted.
The accident was not far from where a man, 20, was hit by a car in the same road and later died last week.
Earlier today, police appealed for information after last week's fatality which happened at 10.15pm on Wednesday, November 4 when the casualty was airlifted to a London hospital but he could not be saved.
Witnesses to that crash have been urged to call police on 01622 798538 or email sciu.td@kent.pnn.police.uk quoting MD/98/20.
