British Transport Police have revealed a 65-year-old woman from Canterbury was hit and killed by a train on Friday.
Officers were called to the crossing in Tonford Lane just after 10pm after reports a person was struck by train as it travelled to London.
Police and paramedics were also called but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family have been informed.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
The report was issued after Southeastern staff reported seeing blood and what they thought were human remains on the side of the 19.14 train from Ramsgate to Charing Cross.
The driver said he remembered striking an object at the crossing but thought it was a bird or small animal.
Emergency services were called to the crossing to carry out an investigation sparking delays and cancelled services for passengers.
Her death is the second at the crossing in three months after a 36-year-old man was also killed by a train in August.
His death was also treated as non-suspicious.
