Stagecoach is planning a number of improvements for Canterbury's park and ride users after being awarded a five-year contract to run the service.
The bus company won the contract from the city council to run the park and ride after current operators Kent Top Travel opted not to bid again.
They say they will make a number of improvements including free wi-fi, longer opening hours and a new fleet of buses.
The cost of using the park and ride will not change.
The council's executive member for transport Peter Vickery-Jones said: “Park and ride is one of our most important services.
"Hundreds of thousands of people use it each year and rely on it to get into the city quickly and easily for working, studying and leisure.
“A new contract gives us the opportunity to take advantage of modern technology, such as onboard wi-fi, and to ensure we use the latest environmentally friendly buses.
"We’re looking forward to working with Stagecoach in the years ahead.
“We would also like to thank Kent Top Travel for their hard work and commitment to keeping our park and ride one of the best in the country.”
Managing Director of Stagecoach in East Kent, Paul Southgate, said: “We are delighted to have won the opportunity to operate such an important public service for Canterbury.
"We are committed to reducing traffic congestion by continually improving public transport and the brand new fleet of park and ride buses, free wi-fi and extended operating hours will hopefully encourage more people to use the service rather than driving into the city centre.”
