Strong winds caused power cables to get caught in a overhanging tree in a road in Wingham.
The incident happened on Gobery Hill between Wingham & Ash last night and caused the road to be closed in both directions.
Kent County Council Highways, closed it about 8.30pm to enable UK Power Network engineers to make the cables at the site safe and get the dangerous over hanging tree cleared.
A diversion was put in place via Nash Road and Preston Hill.
KCC Highway said the road would reopen this morning.
