Two 18-year-olds charged with attempted robbery in Bekesbourne

Two teenagers have been charged following an attempted knifepoint robbery.

George Lilford, 18, of Station Road in Bekesbourne was arrested in Station Approach at around 1.30am yesterday and charged with attempted robbery, affray and threatening another person with a knife.

An hour later Bailey Carew-Wootton, 18, of Richmond Road in Whitstable was arrested at Bekesbourne Hill and charged with attempted robbery and possession of cannabis.

George Lilford was remanded in custody and appeared in court today.

Bailey Carew-Wootton was bailed and will appear at Margate Magistrates Court on May 9.
