Canterbury: American tourist gets tattoo of Badgers Hill Farm in Chilham

An American tourist who fell in love with Canterbury has taken home a permanent souvenir of her trip – the logo of a family attraction tattooed on her arm.
Sara Nell, 30, from Maryland, was so enamoured with Badgers Hill Farm in Chilham she just had to have an inking of its emblem.
She popped into Zink Studios in the city’s High Street and they were happy to oblige with her unusual request.
Sara was visiting her father, Scott, who moved to Canterbury 20 years ago, and is delighted with the result.
“The first time I came to Canterbury I was in love with the city and luckily for me my father wound up living there,” she said.
“This time, I was there for three weeks and the trip was just as magical as my first.
“Badgers Hill Farm is one of my favourite places in Canterbury.
"I adore farms and can always convince my father to have a coffee with me in their cafe, so we go pretty often.
“Badgers in British folklore are often symbolic of the beginning of spring and, as I am entering my 30s, there is a sense of entering a new season of my life.
“What means more than the tattoo, as a picture and symbol, is the feeling it gives.
“It reminds me of a place that has really begun to feel like home to me.”
Sara was tattooed by Finn Guthrie, who completed the inking within 45 minutes.
The logo was designed by Bridget Tann, who studied at the University of Kent and runs Bridget Designs.
“I was delighted to find that someone wanted one of my logo designs as a tattoo, though it’s not something I had considered before,” she said.
“I have always liked the design as I am fond of badgers myself.
"I love the way Finn has adapted the logo and I think it looks really cute.”
