Trains are being cancelled as police deal with an incident near a railway station this evening - understood to be a man on a bridge over the tracks.
Power to the lines through Canterbury West has been turned off and police have been seen nearby in Farleigh Road.
Officers are understood to be dealing with a medical incident.
Trains are unable to run through the station, meaning services between Ashford and Ramsgate via the Canterbury station have been cancelled.
Rail replacement buses are being put in place.
Southeastern tweeted: "Due to an emergency services incident, power to the lines through #CanterburyWest has been turned off, meaning trains cannot run through the station.
"We're making arrangements for the passengers on those trains currently between stations to safely move in to platform.
"Kent Police are on site dealing with an incident near to #CanterburyWest.
"For safety purposes, trains cannot run in the area whilst the incident is dealt with."
They later added: "No trains Ashford-Ramsgate via #CanterburyWest due to an emergency services incident.
"Buses will run on the #CanterburyWest Line.
"We are working with Network Rail to get trains in the area safely in to platforms. We need to safely recharge power to a line to do this."
Police have been contacted for more details.
