Crash in Nackington Road, Canterbury, shuts route in both directions

A busy road was shut in both directions following a two-car crash this afternoon.
Rush-hour traffic was forced to divert as emergency crews dealt with the aftermath of the accident in Nackington Road, Canterbury.
Two cars were involved in the crash between Merton Lane and Bridge Road at about 4.20pm.
Police shut Nackington Road about a mile from the point at which it becomes Stone Street for motorists heading towards Folkestone.
Ambulance crews were also in attendance.
A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called to a report of a two-vehicle collision just after 3pm on Friday.
"Patrols are attending the scene in Stone Street, Canterbury. Three people have reported injuries.
"The road remains closed while vehicle recovery work is ongoing."
By 6.05pm, the road had reopened.
