A van burst into flames during the morning commute this morning.
Fire crews were called to the blaze on the A2, near Harbledown, Canterbury, at 6.38am.
It had broken down on the London-bound carriageway when it caught fire.
Two fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.
The blaze caused delays on the A2 but the traffic has now cleared, according to Kent Highways.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but is believed to have started in the engine.
No casualties were reported.
