Shock footage has emerged of a cyclist dressed in black dragging a dog along a busy Canterbury road at night.

The man - who has no reflective cycling gear on - veers off the pavement and into the road with the dog before ignoring a no entry sign and disappearing the wrong way down a one-way street.

Charlie Vanstone filmed the man as he and his friend drove down Broad Street at just after 9pm last night.

The 23-year-old, of Sturry Road, Canterbury, said: "We were just trying to pull out of the Queningate car park when the bloke shot past us without looking or anything.

"He was in black, had no reflective gear on even though it was night and was dragging his dog with him."

They pulled out behind the cyclist and Charlie began to film him.

Charlie, who is the events manager for Olby's Soul Cafe in Margate, said: "He was on the pavement at first, but then hopped into the road.

"I couldn't believe it. It was totally ridiculous."

Charlie and his friend carried on into Military Road, but the cyclist pulled his dog into the one-way section of Broad Street and disappeared.

"People like this do not deserve pets," he added.
