A student house party with more than 100 people in attendance erupted into violence.
There were reports of fights breaking out between rowdy revellers at the accommodation in High Street St Gregory's, Canterbury, in the early hours of this morning.
Officers were called to the cul-de-sac twice following reports of blaring music, screaming and fights breaking out.
Nearby resident Pat Gorman, 55, had to phone police twice because of the amount of disruption the party was causing.
"I phoned the police the first time at 12.45am and I was told someone was coming," he said.
"Then it went quiet but I phoned a second time because you could hear shouting, screaming and fights breaking out.
"One [neighbour] overlooking the garden said there were fights going on."
'There was a very large group of people which was not a house party size'
But when police arrived again at about 1.25am, the party had dispersed into the narrow road outside.
"There was a very large group of people which was not a house party size," Mr Gorman added. "There were at least 100 people – possibly more."
He added: "There have been parties before, I’ve banged on the door and asked them to turn the music down and they’ve done it.
"But it would be stupid on my part to have challenged loads of people."
Police confirmed they were called just after 11.30pm yesterday to a property in High Street St Gregory’s, Canterbury, following reports of a disturbance.
"Officers attended, no offences were identified but occupants given words of advice regarding the level of noise," a spokesperson for the force said.
"A further call was received just before 1am, following reports of a further disturbance, officers attended and the group had dispersed before officers had arrived."
