Met Office yellow weather warning for rain in place for Kent

A yellow weather warning is in place for this morning’s commute, with heavy rain continuing to fall across the county.
The Met Office is warning there is a chance that a period of heavy rainfall, on top of recent downpours, could cause disruption to travel.
Spray and flooding may also lead to difficult driving conditions and there is a small chance of road closures.
Possible flooding could also lead to delays and/or cancellations of public transport services.
The alert will be in force until 9am.
However, the timeframe of the warning has been decreased since Wednesday – when weather experts had put it in place to last all day today.
Homes and businesses could also become flooded, causing damage to buildings.
It comes after a rare red weather warning stating there was a “risk to life” was issued for parts of Scotland – though the worst of Storm Babet battered the UK on Thursday.
Britain is bracing for heavy wind and rain from the storm, which is currently hitting Ireland after sweeping in from the Atlantic.
