The findings of a post mortem into Miss Goddard's death were heard as an inquest into her death opened today (Thursday, July 11).

Assistant coroner Bina Patel said: "The cause of death was given as submersion under water due to intoxication."

The inquest heard Miss Goddard, who was born in Tunbridge Wells, had an anti-depressant and a painkiller in her system when she died.

Miss Patel said: "I offer my personal condolences to family and friends of Isabella."

A full inquest will take place on October 7 at the Archbishop's Palace in Maidstone.
