Canterbury woman charged with spitting at police officers and urinating in vehicle

A woman has been charged with spitting at and kicking police officers trying to detain her.

It is also alleged Amanda Waugh, 53, urinated in a police vehicle after being arrested in Burgate, Canterbury in relation to an ongoing investigation.

During the arrest on Friday, an officer was reportedly kicked in the leg and while the woman was being conveyed to custody an officer was spat at.

While in custody there were two further incidents of officers being spat at, police say.

Ms Waugh, from Cornwall Gardens, Canterbury has been charged with four counts of assaulting an emergency worker and criminal damage.

She has also been charged with possession of a class B drug.

Ms Waugh has been remanded in custody and will appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
