Police investigate after woman driver reported she was racially abused and spat at after incident on the A28 in Wincheap, Canterbury

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman driver reported being racially abused and spat at in a shock road-rage attack.

The woman was driving in heavy traffic on the A28 in Wincheap, Canterbury, when she said she accidentally prevented another vehicle turning right into a petrol station.

The driver of the other vehicle is alleged to have got out of his car and been aggressive and abusive towards the woman, who drove away when the traffic cleared.

She said the man then followed her to Wincheap Industrial Estate, pulling up alongside her in Simmonds Road where he racially abused her and spat in her face.

The alleged incident happened at about 12.30pm on Wednesday, February 18.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed either incident to come forward. Officers would also like to trace a black Vauxhall people-carrier with a registration number beginning GL54 or GL64.
