Canterbury Hockey club player-coach Kwan Browne says TV spotlight would be perfect stage for club
09:30, 30 January 2014
Player-coach Kwan Browne says Canterbury Hockey Club’s men have their eyes firmly set on qualifying for the final of the Maxinutrition 5s to secure an appearance on Sky TV.
The city club finished third in the national indoor Premier Division and will be roared on by the travelling green and white army as they face
Reading in the last four at Wembley Arena on Sunday (1.45pm) with a place in the televised final (4.45pm), at stake.
Browne admitted: “Reading are always difficult opponents but going there and getting two games in is the most important thing for us. It would be nice for our fantastic supporters to come and see us play in two games and the chance to play on TV will be great way to showcase the club.
The winners of the other semi-final between champions East Grinstead and Holcombe await in the final.
